A lot of the human research that’s been ongoing for the last twenty or so years, looking at psilocybin specifically for healthy people as well as for people with things like depression, anxiety, or addictions is finding that using a very high dose, and using it maybe once, twice, in a structured intervention, can really give you these long term changes that people were reporting for three, six, nine, twelve, or more months afterwards. The reason that that’s very exciting is because it’s not your typical farm-and-go therapy, where in order to deal with the symptoms your continuing to take the medication over and over again, it’s more that you’re able to really leverage that one or few doses the psychedelic within a structured intervention to help people make more lasting changes.
What are some of the long term implications of psychedelic treatments?
