In our study we followed people who carried one of these three genes for FTD. This means that they have the genetic mutation and they will eventually get the disease. Our question was can lifestyle behaviors do anything to prevent dementia? We measured the subjects daily activity, both physical and cognitive. We found that in these gene carries, those that has more physical and cognitive activities at baseline demonstrated a slower clinical progression of the disease year over year. It was about a 50% slower clinical progression. There was no mandates, this was just an observational study.
