Is a schedule important for people with dementia?

I would say predictability is what’s really important and it can be fairly loose. It doesn’t have to be scheduled down to the minute, but it gets even more important later in the day. The main thing is that you’re doing something with them or helping them get involved in something that they understand the steps to it and that helps reduce anxiety and those feelings that can lead to a meltdown.
