" Being apart of the trial and then being able to access approved drugs are both important considerations. Clinical trials are often conducted at research sites that are often not in rural locations so you would have to consider travel or moving to a location where trials are more readily available to you. Some sponsors may cover the cost of travel. If a drug like aducanumab is approved, there are certain things that may make it harder for rural populations compared to urban populations to gain access to the drug because you will need to be able to access MRI scans and other technology. It will become easier once blood tests because it will lessen the divide between rural and urban access. We have to also ensure that the marketplace is ready once the drug is approved. "
