There is wide variety of brain injuries that occur, one from sports, car accidents, army related injuries, etc. Each brain injury has very different outcomes for the individual and others impacted. There are some studies that can connect traumatic brain injuries to the risk of development of neurodegenerative disease later on in life. Their conclusion is that early on traumatic injuries can increase the risk to dementia but also Parkinson’s disease as well as other late life neurodegenerative diseases.
