" When someone just receives that information, once a person hears that they have some form of dementia, nothing else after that is absorbed. Their brain either goes into fright, flight, fight, hide or seek mode. Fright entails anxiety and shock. Flight means leaving and saying, ‘Let’s get out of here because it’s a dangerous place so the brain flies from this information.’ Fight is denial and getting kickback because the brain is fighting with this condition. Hide means to not let anyone see your diagnosis and its symptoms. Lastly, seek is the mentality of looking for a second opinion, and not being able to sit with the diagnosis. "
